Extremely small contemporary art gallery. No admission fee. Interesting restrooms. Given how small the on-display connection is, I wouldn’t make this a primary destination for a trip. However, if you’re in the area and want a diversion, this place is worth a little time.

Love this place year round. Best museum

The space is beautiful but the show (July 2023) was horrible. Poor quality degenerate art. You will have a difficult time getting these awful images out of your mind. Also the people working there don’t even acknowledge your presence except the nice security guard who opens the door. Not recommended!!

This place is located in Plaza El Castillo, a place that as soon as you enter it seems like you were in another era, I went to the opening of the painter Delia Sanjurjo's exhibition, "We are instants", which will be on from August 3 to 12, beautiful paintings, unmissable visit. 🎐

Elevators for the disabled do not work. 👎 Sometimes the boiler that helps regulate the temperature of the pool does not work and this causes classes not to be taught. Hopefully these details can be resolved for better service for users.

The art of Alexis Mata is absolutely stunning! But also the other art pieces very nicely arranged and very interesting to see. I was very positively surprised by this beautiful museum which also contains a shop, restaurants, bar, hair salon. Must go!

Stumbled upon this gallery, and so happy we did. The Alexis Mata show was up at the time. It’s in a nice little complex that has a high end boutique called AMY inside on the second floor as well.

Small museum gallery but with lots of life. The art gets shuffled around often but the work remains classic. We were greater here with warm smiles and the gallery was overall empty. Across the two stories that the gallery rests on the work was awesome.

Great tiny gallery for contemporary art! You might have to ring the doorbell to get in.

Very cool gallery with unassuming exterior and innovative interior curation. The staff was incredibly friendly and approachable. We accidentally walked in while they were setting up a new exhibit but we were instructed to come back later that evening for the opening night. When we returned the place was full, staff were handing out beverages and interacting with the crowd & art. The artists were there as well which was a unique opportunity to learn more about their work. We look forward to returning.

Beautiful gallery with a Soto edition on. The receptionist was helpful too.

I found the work uninspiring and it's a bit out of the way of other galleries in the city. That said, I wouldn't judge a gallery by one show and would be interested in going back to see what they have up in the future.

A landmark for quite some time in Mexico city's art scene. Great collections and a beautiful shop. Located in the heart of POSH upper Polanco A must.

It's spacious and good art exhibits if you're an avid collector. Not much to comment.

Beautiful art gallery in Roma Norte with a variety of art pieces and sculptures from established and up-and-coming artists. The curator and staff were very kind and patient in answering questions about the different artists and pieces, providing their back stories and history. We were particularly intrigued and excited to learn about Pedro Friedeberg and see his exquisite paintings in the gallery. Ended up purchasing a print by Cristobal Montoya before leaving, and we are excited to stop by again when we are back in the neighborhood.

I came back to this gallery multiple times. Recognizing the diversity in collection and modalities. Bringing together peices available for sale from artists seen thoughout Mexico. Artists from around the world that call Mexico home now. Worth a visit! Free to view of course. The art was all highly emotive and some very political.

I’ve always appreciated the artwork and auction events from this gallery. However, I’m compelled to give a two-star rating due to a recent disappointing experience with their delivery service, especially considering the premium nature of their products. As a returning customer living outside Mexico City, I coordinated the delivery about a week in advance during my holiday visit. Despite giving them multiple options and confirming the schedule the day before, the service was unsatisfactory. Deep into the agreed time window, I was informed of a delay due to prioritizing another delivery. This not only affected my plans but also demonstrated a lack of professionalism and respect for customers’ time. Their response was equally disheartening; they ceased communication when I tried to find a solution. In a city known for its traffic, such as Mexico City, one expects a higher standard of service, particularly for expensive art deliveries. I hope this feedback prompts improvements in their delivery service, ensuring that future customers don’t face similar inconveniences

Not sure what’s going on here—remodeling? There were maybe ten pieces of art total, whole rooms empty. No plaques next to the artworks. No explanation.
Tracey Parker
Closed for over two weeks and no mention of this on their website or social media.

The first Mexican gallery is always a must. Something that will be better is that if they provided the names of the displayed artworks.

An awesome place with lots of artwork, food, pastries, and cool toilets. It's a nice place to enjoy working, talking with your friends/date and just having a chill time. They also have drinks and beer so that gives them a huge plus too.

Art! Art! Art! Great spot in Mexico City to see up and coming art, drink a carajillo and grab something to eat.

I liked the art. I got a little confused because the gallery is in an apartment next door and is no longer in the same space as before. Don't worry. You just have to ring the bell (look for a sign) and they will open the door for you. As the gallery is on the 3rd floor (building without an elevator), it is important to mention that it is no longer accessible to someone with mobility problems. Anyway there are many prints and paintings for sale $900-10,000++ from various artists, watercolors and a rotating exhibition. Interesting and eye-catching art.

Free for all. Edgy exhibitions. But - like all art galleries - depends on taste and luck.

An excellent art space with exhibitions, concerts, and many other events.

The Metropolitan Gallery is a cultural space of the Metropolitan Autonomous University focused on the visual arts. Every Tuesday they have a live broadcast on their Facebook account where they virtually present an option to appreciate this type of arts. Entrance is free.
